My Summer Vacation Training

Hey Peeps!!!Welcome to my new blog @ blogspot~As some of you may have known, I have started my vacation training last Friday. It was not really nerve-wrecking as I've been through this before.The first day was nothing much, just the usual Induction, the office tour..you know, the whole nine yards.However, this time around, things are slightly better than last time as free lunches were provided to all the vacation trainees (VTs). The VTs for the Assurance Dept. even got their laptops on their first day.We even get to mingle around with the HR Executive, where she shared her experiences with us... Things were different back then when I joined the firm, I still remember vividly I couldn't get a laptop on the first day..and guess what I did??? I sat there like an idiot the whole day,reading Women's Weekly(hey,that's the best I could get from the convenient store) ...feeling pangs of jealousy watching other staff busy working with the laptops and some even surfing the net on their free time.Anyways, we got our 'dog tags' and a goodie bag =) .

There were 11 of us in this batch. There were 3 VTs from UiTM, the other 3 were from MMU , 4 of us from HELP and 1 from Nottingham. Hahaha..I know some of u were dying to know who are the other HELP students who got in right???? They are none other than Yoke Ching and Hee Jin.I was surprised to see them at the Induction.I was relieved too as there are some acquaintances there =)

Initially, I was dissapointed when only the VTs from Assurance Dept were given laptops. The VTs in other departments have desktops at their cubicle and hence no laptops were given.Oh by the way, I am in the Taxation Department where my industry specialisation is Energy,Utilities and Mining(EUMI). The inner self in me was jumping around,whooping with joy when a laptop was provided to me on my second day (Woohoo!!Time for some NET surfing) as there weren't enough desktops around =D(It was only temporary until other VTs had resigned) . Here's a glimpse of my office =p

Yep..Welcome to the Life of a VT

There were a few times that I nearly fell asleep..Okay actually I did take a rest..I was pretending to be staring at my laptop =p..Nobody actually noticed cuz I was seated at the far corner..which is a good thing by the way *_^. Well, things have been very hectic since then..I was given the chance to help in the tax computation...Darn, it felt like rocket science to me...All the financial statements and audit working papers became incomprehensible to me. I was pretty thankful that I'm only a VT cuz I get to leave work at 5.30 pm, unlike my senior colleagues who have to remain at the office to complete their work. But then again, I think I would have to stay until late at night this coming July as it is the tax filing period i.e. the PEAK period for taxation T_T

Till then, I would fully enjoy and appreciate my privilege of leaving at 5.30 p.m ;-p
