Once Again, I Fell In Love

Yesterday I meet up with one of my closest friend, Diane in Pavilion. After almost 4 months of not seeing her (we've been busy) , there's helluva lot of catching up to do.

After months of not meeting up..I missed her soo sooo sooo much that we had dinner together and then we catch a movie (AVP2) after dinner. Well, gotta spend as much time with your close ones before the start of a new year right? Hehe..Actually, she has extra tix to AVP2 cuz her sis couldn't make it ..Well,you get the drift....

Stories aside, I must say that YTL really make an effort to attract more tourists and visitors to the Bukit Bintang area... I'm starting to fall head over heels with Bukit Bintang again. With 6 shopping malls in that area alone...which encompasses boutiques and shops that cater to everyone's needs. From high-end boutiques to the less-sophisticated ones, you name it;they got it.

But what i'm so amazed with is the marketing strategies used by YTL..They actually hire performers to perform on the street so that patrons dining al-fresco could enjoy their food while being entertained as well..

Yesterday alone, I saw two different performances .. One of most prominent ones is the catwalk by a group of performers/models dressed up in fancy costumes that exudes the vibe of a Mardi Gras celebration.


These tuxedo-masked man looked so darn sexy...Especially the one clad in the black and gold tux..Kinda makes me wonder how good-looking they would be underneath the masks ;-p

This lady here actually scares the shit out of a little girl.. One girl was crying while watching the street performance. Yea..come to think of it..They were pretty scary..cuz they just parade with a kindda eerie background music and they will strike an overdramatic pose so that we could snap pictures!


But I totally admire their costumes! So beautiful!

On a different note, I saw a cow exhibition along Starhill Gallery. They are colourful and some have quirky designs!

All the cows represent different countries... I saw a few countries like Greece, Portugal and so forth... Pretty amazing drawings on the cows' bodies.

It's been a while since I've been to BB area..All these new and quirky additions totally make me fell in love with Bukit Bintang once again.

Gossip Girl

Has become my latest obsession currently. It's a US drama series that was created by the same producer that produced The O.C. , Josh Schwartz but it's nothing like The O.C.

The series is basically about a group of scandalous teenage socialites who live in the glamorous and sophisticated Upper East Side of New York City. These rich teenagers live the high life - all they do are shop, party and drink. But as teenagers, they deal with sex, drugs and problems with their friendships and relationships.

The narrator, Gossip Girl, is an unseen character who runs a blog about the lives of these teenagers, and is always on the lookout for the scoop on everything and everyone. Rumor has it that Kristen Bell plays the role of Gossip Girl.

The casts are wayy hotter than The O.C.Let's take a peek, shall we?

Serena was the IT girl in her school before she mysteriously dissappear for boarding school in Conneticut. However, she returned to NYC due to her brother's admittance into rehab. ( I still think that her return to NYC aren't that simple).Serena keeps a steady string of admirers, including Dan Humphrey & Nate Archibald.

Blair, Serena's BFF, is rather vain, though her friendship with Serena causes her to be insecure at times. Blair uses her charm, money, and social clout to get whatever she wants. She's like the Queen Bee at school and has 2 sidekicks, Kati and Iz.Her father left her mom and her for a male model. Blair's character is very uptight and she's always never good enough for her mother, Eleanor Waldorf ,who is a renowned fashion-designer in NYC.

Nate, is also from prominent families in NYC. His dad is a lawyer who forces him to follow his foot steps. He's also Blair's long-time boyfriend...They are like childhood sweethearts. Hence, his dad always pressure him to marry Blair in order to help his dad to score a deal for his law firm. Has slept with Serena before she left for boarding school.(FYI, his real-life girlfriend is none other than American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood)

Chuck is the epitome of rich-spoiled kids who loves sex and alcohol. He's Nate's best buddy and kindda close with Blair too. Both of them have successfully plotted a plan to tarnish Serena's reputation during Ivy Week. He has feelings for Blair too. They even have a secret affair not long after Nate broke up with Blair. He even tried to sleep with Serena and Jenny too. ( Do you think he looks a lil' bit like Jonathan Rhys Meyers?)


Ahh..My favourite character in the series..Dan Humphrey. Not from any prominent families in NYC...Secretly in love with Serena for 2 years before finally becoming her boyfriend after she returned from boarding school. He's funny at times..Kindda goofy too..Nonetheless, he's a very intelligent guy who has a smokin' hot rock- star-cum-art-gallery-owner father. Oh by the way, his dad had a history together with Serena's mom. Talk about 4th degree of separation...Scandalous, aren't they???? Indeed.



Aww..Little Jenny Humphrey..Dan's lil' sister who wants to be the next IT girl ala Serena ...Would do anything to try to fit into the rich and fabulous clique in her school i.e. Blair and her sidekicks. Once, she even betrayed her brother's secret in order to win Blair's heart. A good seamstress though, always make her own clothes that are kindda stylish. (I know..not in this picture..Hate the purple stockings)

So that's a little summary about the series and the characters.....

Now, it's time for the gorgeous fashion featured in the show!!! Gosh..Love it! Love it! Love it!

Gossip Girl.

Out and About In Malacca

Last Saturday was a total blast. Went to Malacca with a bunch of HELP AIESECers and of cos the DAs = D. Considered it as my first trip to the historical town albeit my parents had brought me there when I was just a little toddler (that doesn't count cuz I dont have any memories of being there at all).

We embarked on the journey at 0900 hours. After almost one and a half hours drive from KL, we finally arrived at our destination; i.e. The Malacca Town !!!!

Our first stop for the day: The famous Dutch relic ; i.e The Stadthuys, which is one of the oldest Dutch buildings in Malacca. Robin and Guido were so proud of the relic because it marked the heritage of the Dutch and I think that it made them felt closer to home since they've been away from home for 2 months...

Since we're famished after the one and a half hours ride, we headed to one of Malacca's most famous chicken rice ball shop for lunch (Sorry, I forgot the name..it's located at the corner right after the bridge). You definitely won't miss the shop because it's overcrowded. Even the Japanese knew that it's famous =) We waited for 15 minutes before we were finally seated. Because we're dead hungry, the 15-minutes wait seemed like forever.

The Chicken is oh-so-smooth and tender. I totally enjoy it =)

As for the rice balls, I thought it was overrated. Not as tasty as I had expected. A tad too sticky for my liking. I still prefer the good ol' oily rice.

After lunch, it's time to get down and dirty at every nooks and crannies of the historical town!


Robin & Guido popped in a vintage store where they sell all sorts of things ranging from tribal masks to ancient Malaysia notes ...Well, you name it; they got it.




Robin got a chopsticks set while Guido bought a tribal masquerade and a pair of Chinese ornaments for his sisters.

Next, we visited the Christ Church and the Middleburg Bastion before dropping by at the Museum of Ethnography and History.

The Middleburg Bastion was recently founded by the town council when they were digging the spot for development purposes. It was built by the Dutch, destroyed by the British and restored by the Malaysian Government. MALAYSIA BOLEH!!!



We attempted to do the jumping shots - AGAIN. This time around, the boys were messing around and surprisingly, the end results were satisfying. I love how natural we looked..

Especially Robin's silly expression..That totally got me laughing everytime I look at it X-D

Then, we visited the place that needs no further introduction; The A'Famosa which was built by the Portugese !!!

We hanged around for quite a while at the A'Famosa...Taking pictures and videos =) .

Even some Indonesian tourists want to take a picture with them...Everybody wants a piece of them. There's also a group of Malay girls who went berserk when Guido put his arms around one of the Malay girl. She screamed!!!Too bad I wasn't there to witness this absurd behaviour. Another random Malay girl even has the guts to ask Guido for his email after scoring one picture with him!!! How desperate is that?! But of course, he gave her the fake email address ;p

The DAs have the tendency to carry people - out of a sudden...So, we girls have to be on our guards but we failed miserably because somehow they'll find a way to do it...I totally digged my own grave when I tried to get back at Guido for messing with us girls...

Luckily, it was only Guido because if the two monkeys teamed up, I think I'll be upside down.

Took some group pics before Chad brought us to a satay shop to devour ourselves with satays and ketupats. THe DAs had 30 satays EACH.


The last stop of the day is the ever-famous Jonker Walk . The DAs did their last minute shopping here before departing for the Netherlands on the day after. Jonker Walk has unleashed their inner shopaholics. They buy and buy and buy like there's no tomorrow.

We found the perfect gift for the DAs initially. It was a T-Shirt with a quirky slogan; i.e. To Lah or Not To Lah??? Since Robin is infected with our LAH syndrome, it would be the perfect gift for them...However, the price is a tad too expensive for the low T-shirt quality.In the end , we didn't buy it..But we gave them another perfect present that almost brought tears to their eyes =)

No words could describe my foremost visit to Malacca Town.The pictures already did all the talking. Hehe..

I had a ball that day although we were dog-tired. Wish you were here ;p

p.s. Yea, just say it : We are sooooo VAIN....

Petronas Twin Towers Skybridge Visit

Last Tuesday was the day I visited the Petronas Skybridge - for the first time. Needless to say, I was excited because I have some uber gorgeous foreign companies with me!!!!! Yep, they are none other than the Dutch ambassadors, Robin and Guido.

I arrived at the Petronas Towers approximately at 9 a.m. and I even took my own sweet time to walk over to the ticket counter as I thought I was early since Chad,Angelyn & the DAs have not arrived. But boy was I surprised when I arrived at the ticket counter!!! The queue is outrageous!!!

I waited in boredom for 30 minutes...Did a little picture snapping and ogled at some good-looking angmohs and Japanese by myself and finally the boredom came to an end with the arrival of the DAs...Muahahahha...

My heart almost skipped a bit when they shaked my hands...hohoho..Okay I'm over exaggerating here...I'm not jakun k.. I have 2 angmoh cousins in Aussieland.. Initially, I was under the impression that they are good-looking (u know la,angmohs mahhh), but not THAT good-looking. I would say that both of them were the epitome of the Greek God..Unbelievably handsome...Not to mention that they are insanely tall, I had a hard time talking to them..At the end of the day, I had a sore neck..

We waited for another 30 minutes before it's our turn to collect the tickets. Queued up one friggin' hour for this thing...

Since our tickets are scheduled for the 4.15pm visit, we decided to hang out and have lunch in Bukit Bintang..

After much walking and shopping in BB, we still have 30 minutes ...So being the vain pots that we are, we decided to kill time by experimenting the jumping while posing shot in conjunction with the 50th Merdeka Celebration..Hahaha..Very patriotic huh...Yee Joo and I attempted a zillion times before we finally managed to capture the almost perfect shot..I love it...Especially the one in the center...





Even Chad doesn't want to miss out and he tried his luck....It didn't really worked out..The way he jumped is hilarious...Almost got YJ and I rolling on the floor,laughing....







After all the camwhoring sessions, we headed for the Skybridge tour...And they had us waited for another 20 minutes before ushering us into a room where they introduced Malaysia to us...Well sorta...U know..those boring kind of documentaries..But kudos to them for making us looked like models =)




At last, we boarded the elevator and within seconds, we're at the 41st floor of the Petronas Towers!!








Since we're only given 10 minutes to tour around the bridge..Everyone was hogging the best spot i.e. the center of the bridge....






I was a bit dissapointed as I expected something more..The view from the bridge..was ..To me, it was run-of-the-mill...

Through this visit, I realized that being a good-looking foreigner has advantages..The local staffs will be extra nice to you...Seriously..I witnessed it with my own eyes...



Well, I gotta say..My first visit to the Skybridge wasn't all too bad after all =p
Somebody even skipped work just to attend this outing hor...Wonder who is it????
